Happy New Year to everyone!

It’s a brand new year and it was a great time praising the Lord this morning.  My wife and I missed last weekend because of the death of her father.  It has been a hard experience for her and her mom and sister.  Please pray for them as we won’t have the memorial until January 10th.

It was like breathing again to experience God the way we did this morning. The really funny thing about the whole set this week was that our soundman, Larry, had to sing a few songs while Darren directed and ran sound from the back of the sanctuary.  My wife also lead two songs.  We’ll get to those in a minute.

Save the Day – Phillips, Craig and Dean

I really have had this song stuck in my spirit for the last few days and it was my request to be added to the list and it went perfect with Barry’s message on saving grace.

My Savior, My God – Aaron Shust

This is a favorite of the church.  There is always someone cheering and yelling in our congregation before this one is over.

You Are Enough – Eoghan Heaslip

I like this one because the chord changes aren’t typical.  It kind of flips between D major and D Lydian because of the #4 in the progression.  Anyway, I get to solo a bit in this one and I never know what is going to come out of my spirit.

Grace Will Be My Song – Fee

This is easily one of my favorite songs to do.  My wife got to lead it this morning.  She needed to since she is dealing with her dad’s death.  I don’t know if you guys are familiar with what I call, “The hot spot” of a song, but the final chorus to this one is just that…driving, powerful and sung at the top of your lungs.

Message:  Brother Barry Roberts

Altar/Communion:

I’m Overwhelmed- Eric Lopez

My wife lead this one marvelously.  If you haven’t heard this one, get on Eric’s myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/ericlopezonline

In Need – Ross King

Closing:

Last chorus: Grace Will Be My Song

After being off for a week and no Wednesday night youth services to play for, my hands didn’t really know what the strings were for on my guitar, but I quickly regained my composure and played skillfully for my King.

Thank you to the rest of the team for listening intently and being very aware of what God was doing.

The band:

Cavin Dorsey- Bass/music director/In Ear Monitor Madness

Terry Garner, Johnie Adams- Acoustic guitar/vocals

Danna Hafner- Keys/Vocals

Vicki Stringfield- Keys

Jason Stringfield- Drums

Brad Hafner- Electric Guitar/Background vocals

Metro Gnome- Timekeeper

  6. Gosh, I don’t recognize any of the songs. I need to spend less time under this rock. Apparently, I’m old.

  7. Hola,

I was looking through your setlist posts and it’s a pretty good selection…..I listened to the “I’m Overwhelmed” song. That song is amazing!

Is there a website where I can purchase the sheet music for that song!
