Worship Confessional 1.25.2009

Howdy from Evangelistic Temple in Palestine, TX,

Terrificly wonderful was God in our church today.  We had a couple of baptisms following salvations during the weekly services and a few came forward to join the church today.  God is good all the time.  Alrighty then, here is how our praise and worship time went today:

We Give You Glory – Jeremy Camp

We do this one pretty much like the original except a driven electric guitar at the beginning instead of the cleaner sounding one.

Psalm 113:1-3 “Praise the Lord!  Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord.  Praise the name of the Lord!  Blessed be the name of the Lord forever and ever.  Everywhere — from East to West — praise the name of the Lord!”

Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman

This one is more of a collaboration of all us bringing our own styles to the song.  The only thing that sounds like the original is the melody line.

Psalm 106: 48  “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!  Let all the people say, ‘Amen’ Praise the Lord.”

Everlasting God – Brenton Brown

We have mixed Brenton’s version with Lincoln’s version on this one.  I don’t do a solo but we kind of hang on to the end of the chorus’s a bit longer than on the original.

Grace Will Be My Song – Fee

This one is pretty much the same as on the Fee CD.  Except Jason, our drummer, goes a little wild.  I couldn’t help but watch him today.  He cracks me up!

Agnus Dei – Michael W. Smith

We love this one.  We have the bass playing melody line, electric guitar playing harmony line, and the keyboards supporting the drums on this one.  Really cool way of doing it.  I wish I had an E-Bow.

Message:  Dr. Barry Roberts

Today the sermon was over “The Soils of the Heart” and it was amazing.  You will be able to listen to it at http://www.etpalestine.com by the middle of the week.

Word of God Speak – MercyMe

We had a really long altar time and lots came down to be prayed over and a few came down to join the church.  It was a moving time.  God is at work in our church.  What is He doing in yours?

This is part of Sunday Setlists over at Fred’s site.  Just click the link below and follow what other worship services look like all over the world.

As always, leave me a comment and I will comment back.

Keep the Son in your eyes,

Darren Goodman – Vocals

Jason Stringfield – Drums

Danna Hafner, Vicki Stringfield – Keyboards

Cavin Dorsey – Bass, Music Director

Johnie Adams, Terry Garner – Acoustic Guitars

Brad Hafner – Electric Guitar

Metro Gnome – time keeper extraordinaire (He’s doing a better job about the noises!)
