My P90X Journey….. so far!

Hey, you’re here!

If you follow me on Twitter, you know I’m always talking about P90X and what workout I might have on any given day.  If you’re my drummer, it starts to kind of wear you out with me talking about it so much.  Although, my wife and I getting gooey on each other in front of him tends to do that too.  But I digress.  The purpose behind this blog is just to let some of you know what kind of ride you can experience if you decide to do this workout.  Just a forewarning: If you hate P90X, Tony Horton or Beachbody, the company that is behind it all, you are not going to like what I am about to say and you might want to find another blog to read or website to peruse.  This is the system if you want change to find you.  It does take a little bit of discipline but you can do it.  Bring it!p90xlogo_low_res

This workout has 3 different tracks to it: Lean, Classic and Doubles.  Lean is more cardio based, Classic is the real deal, and Doubles is the real deal times 2.  My first week of this beast of a workout I was majorly intimidated by it.   I’m 5’7″ and 215 lbs,  I am majorly out of shape and really have no business doing this workout in Classic mode.  I should have started with lean mode first.  I’m glad I didn’t.  The first time I did the chest and back routine  I thought I was going to hurl.  It’s a lot of pushing and pulling.  After finishing that….move on to ab ripper x.  It really sounds like someone is punishing themselves, but you feel so good at the end of the workout.

I like how things are always switching up.  3 weeks of the same routine then a rest week (that is a misnomer) which is anything but rest.  Then a brand new set of routines for the next 3 weeks.  This workout is not boring and you see changes fast if you stick to the diet and try to get through all the workouts.

Major tools that help me stay focused and on track are the million dollar body game website where I can log in and get help from coaches, or workout for a chance to win $1000 or a new Ipod Touch or a digital camera.  A pretty cool incentive to workout everyday for me.  One other tool that helps with the diet is something I just started using a couple of weeks ago.  Shakeology is a shake that replaces a meal and has all the nutrition anyone needs for the entire day.  I was stuck at 198 lbs for 6 weeks and now since the Shakeology I am steadily losing weight again and I’m not hungry and I feel better.  shakeology_logo_low_res

I am now at the end of the very first 90 days in pretty good shape, probably where I should have been to start it the first time.  I plan on keeping the X in my daily routine. As of this blog, I weigh in at 195 lbs (haven’t seen that number in a few years) and now am a beachbody coach.  My wife bought some size 34″ pants for me to wear.  I can get in them and they aren’t too snug.  I’ve been wearing size 36″ for the last 5 years.  Another round of P90X and I might be able to get into my 32″ waist jeans.  Wouldn’t that be fun?

I am here to help you if you decide to do this workout or are just looking for advice or good supplements to help you lose weight, bulk up, tone up, do 1 push up.  Whatever your goal is I want to help you.  You will find Brad’s Beachbody Coach’s Corner to the right as a link.  That is where I can do that.  You can sign up for free to log in to the million dollar body game for a chance to win prizes everytime you workout.  Free advice from me and a slew of other coaches if I can’t answer your question.  You can also buy the workouts or become a coach and start your own business.  I’d love to help you reach your goals in life.

Leave a comment, sign up, or do some more investigation.  I’ll be here when you get back.
