Metro Gnome Chronicles 11.22.09
November 22, 2009

I’m back after missing last week.  Not sure what happened last week.  It just slipped my mind to update the blog.  Anyway….go thank this guy, Fred McKinnon, for putting this whole thing together.  Check out this link if you want to see what other worship leaders did today: http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/11/22/sunday-setlists-70/

Here’s the list:

Walk In:

Until the Whole World Hears – Casting Crowns

Hosanna – Baloche

Who Am I – Casting Crowns

Grace Will Be My Song – Fee

How He Loves/Dance With Me (Medley) – McMillan (More like the Crowder arrangement)

Message: Brother Barry Roberts

Altar: Only You/How He Loves (Medley)

We’re putting a lot of medley’s together recently.  They seem to just flow one to the next.  I guess it’s a good thing.  The congregation seems to like them and God is really moving powerfully.

Leave me a comment, like a nice person! 😉

Flag and ConstitutionIt has been a greatly eventful weekend at home and at church.  Welcome!  I’m glad you found me here.  I’m thankful that you have taken the time to stop by.  I hope you come back often and leave me comments.

The weekend started with the event coverage of the 9/12 project on FoxNews. We are beginning to see just how patriotic our fellow Americans are with the TEA Party on the The Mall at the capital in Washington D.C.  There were other TEA Parties in Fort Worth, TX and in Quincy, Ill. as well.  What an amazing thing the gift of freedom is from God.  We respond with conviction and heart in times of trouble and let our voices be heard because those freedoms are placed in danger’s way.  It happened 8 years ago at 9/11 and it feels like it is happening again in our great country.

In light of the current events, the church has been called to awaken.  Do you hear that?  WAKE UP!  No more compromise.  No more playing the game of appearing like Christians but living like hell after church is over.  It’s time to stand up and let the evidence of our Christianity be collected against us by our enemies, if they dare to do so.  What do we have to lose?  Our lives? If things don’t change we won’t have one anyway.  The paradigm is changing.  So stand up and be counted for the Glory of God!

Brother Barry preached a great sermon today. It will be up on http://www.etpalestine.com Monday morning.  It’s called “Church Alive”.  I continue to post these sermons because I’m starting to see that the messages that are coming out of your churches are becoming more and more similar. (Like our setlists!)  It’s equally as cool to see God moving His churches in the same direction.  Is it not?

Speaking of the setlist:

Walk – In  Let the Praises Ring – Lincoln Brewster

It’s been a long time since we have brought this one out to the main service.  It felt great though and the praises did ring out loud today.

Lifesong – Casting Crowns

Mighty to Save – Morgan (We did Smitty’s version)

Prayer and Offertory

Who Am I? – Casting Crowns

Only You – David Crowder* Band

Message: Dr. Barry Roberts “Church Alive”

Altar:  Word of God Speak – MercyMe

Closing: Chorus to Word of God Speak

What was your weekend like?  How did you remember 9/11?  What is going on in your church?  You check other churches setlists and sermons out at http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/09/13/sunday-setlists-60/

Thanks again for stopping by and don’t forget to leave a comment.  It doesn’t matter if it’s about the set list or about 9/11.  I’ll read what you have to say.

Keep the Son in your eyes,

BRAD

Greetings and hallucinations!

Thanks for stopping by.  I am constantly trying to find a way to make the blog short and to the point so that you can get over to other worship pastor’s blogs to see what they did on Sunday.  If you guys have any ideas on how to make my blog the best bang for you view (this is free afterall) let me know.  Please don’t forget to comment.  I do my best in trying to return the favor if you have a blog or facebook page.  You can see those other worship pastor’s blogs by going here:  www.fredmckinnon.com

Here is how the downbeat happened today at Evangelistic Temple, Palestine, TX:

Walk In: Agnus Dei – Michael W. Smith

Greeting: Dr. Barry Roberts

Dr. Barry Roberts, Pastor of Evangelistic Temple, Palestine, TX

Dr. Barry Roberts, Pastor of Evangelistic Temple, Palestine, TX

O Praise Him – David Crowder

Our God Saves – Paul Baloche

This morning, Dayne Weber lead this one.  He knocked it out of the park.

My Saviour My God – Aaron Shust

I am always the one to start this one.  Not usually a problem, but my cat stuck her claw into my ring finger on my fretting hand yesterday and it’s super sore. It’s right where the string and my finger make contact.   Anyway, I made it through and my solo was on the opposite end of suck!  So a good day for me.

Prayer/Offertory

Majesty (Here I Am) – Delirious (We did the PK7 version)

For those of you wondering, PK7 was the band at Promise Keepers 2006 led by Curt Coffield.  I really like their version of this one.  You can go here and listen to it:

http://www.thejesusunderground.com/p-PRO56.html

Jesus Lover of My Soul – Hillsong

Our version of this one is more R&B.

Sermon: Dr. Barry Roberts

Altar/Closing:

Amazed – Lincoln Brewster

We did have a small issue with a keyboard that decided not to power up.We reshuffled Danna’s Korg Karma for Vicki’s  Korg X-50 before the service started.  Other than that snafu, things flowed well and someone came forward for salvation.  Praise God!  That’s why we do what we do.

Keep the Son in your eyes,

BRAD

Walk – in: You Reign – MercyMe

Pastor greeting/announcements

O Praise Him – David Crowder

Hallelujah – Ben Cantalon

Lift High – Steve Fee

Prayer/Offertory

I Will Rise/Jesus Messiah (Medley) – Chris Tomlin

This is the first week that we tried I Will Rise.  The flow for that song straight into Jesus Messiah is seamless.  It’s like they were made to go together.  This big part of it was the congregation loved the surprise into the second song.  After the bridge of I Will Rise we went into the chorus of I Will Rise then into the chorus of Jesus Messiah. We did not play the verses of Jesus Messiah.  IT WAS OFF THE CHAIN!!!

Message:  Dr. Barry Roberts

Altar:

Offering – Paul Baloche

I Will Rise (Reprise)

There were some people laying on the floor crying out to God, altars at our church are always open, so people were down there too.  Just a wonderful day to serve a wonderful God.

Leave me a comment if you wish.  I wish you would!

Keep the Son in your eyes,

BRAD
