I’m back after missing last week.  Not sure what happened last week.  It just slipped my mind to update the blog.  Anyway….go thank this guy, Fred McKinnon, for putting this whole thing together.  Check out this link if you want to see what other worship leaders did today: http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/11/22/sunday-setlists-70/

Here’s the list:

Walk In:

Until the Whole World Hears – Casting Crowns

Hosanna – Baloche

Who Am I – Casting Crowns

Grace Will Be My Song – Fee

How He Loves/Dance With Me (Medley) – McMillan (More like the Crowder arrangement)

Altar: Only You/How He Loves (Medley)

We’re putting a lot of medley’s together recently.  They seem to just flow one to the next.  I guess it’s a good thing.  The congregation seems to like them and God is really moving powerfully.

Leave me a comment, like a nice person! 😉

Welcome to the blog, all you Facebooker’s and Tweeter’s!  Glad to have you along for my little Sunday afternoon worship recap.  Today was a little different as we have started  “dry runs” on recording the music portions of our worship services.  Hopefully soon I’ll be able to share snippets of those services with you.

Fred’s website has what other churches around the world did this Sunday as well.  Check that out here:  http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/10/11/sunday-setlists-64/

Now…the moment you’ve all been waiting for……the set list:

Walk In:

For Who You Are – Hillsong

Today was the day to play in the key of B, I guess.  It’s been a little while since we’ve played this one.  This one is much different from the original recording.  We tweeked it to our influences, which are Toto, Journey, Rush and a slew of other bands too.

Bless His Name – Jeremy Riddle

Great tune!  The church really likes this one and they were hungry for a touch from our King today.  It’s always exciting to have a service like this one was.

I Will Rise/Jesus Messiah Chorus only (Medley) – Chris Tomlin

The last time we medley’d these two together was Easter of this year.

Prayer/offertory

Sweetly Broken – Jeremy Riddle

This one is fun for us! Towards the end of the song we go into the “Whoa whoa” part of Journey’s “Faithfully”.  We’ve always said if someone could find a way to make Journey’s music worship, people would worship to it.  We were right!

While I’m Waiting – John Waller

I fell in love with this song the instant I heard it on “Fireproof” while I watched it with my wife.  It’s a rocking song with a great message.

Message: Dr. Barry Roberts

Altar:

I Can Only Imagine – MercyMe

I believe the last time we played this one was at a funeral 2 years ago.  It was funny because for Saturday service we were playing Amazed by Lincoln Brewster.  That one just morphed into this one.  So we added it to the set list this morning.

Dismissal:

Amazed – Lincoln Brewster

See ya next week,

BRAD

It’s a rainy Sunday here in Texas.  Evangelistic Temple still had a packed house regardless of what the weather was doing outside.  Brother Barry had a great sermon on “The Formula for Faith” out of James 1:1-12.  Powerful stuff!  You can check that out at http://www.etpalestine.com and click sermon connect to hear the sermon.

As always, this is a part of Fred’s thingy over at his website here:  http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/10/04/sunday-setlists-63/

Here is our setlist from this morning:

Blessed Be Your Name – Matt Redman

Lift High – Fee (Can’t wait for their new album to come out soon!)

Voice of Truth – Casting Crowns

You Are Enough –

Bring the Rain – MercyMe

Message

Altar:  Eagle’s Wings – Hillsong

We had fun playing our instruments for the King today.  How did you worship? What did you sing?  Leave me a comment.  I want to know!

Keep the Son in your eyes,

BRAD

Greeting to everyone out there.  I appreciate you stopping by to see what music we did and, more importantly, what God did today at Evangelistic Temple in Palestine, Texas.

You can also see what other worship leaders did at http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/09/27/sunday-setlists-62/

Here’s the list:

Let the Praises Ring – Lincoln Brewster

Father Spirit Jesus – Casting Crowns

Bless His Name – Jeremy Riddle

Mighty to Save – Morgan

Hear Us From Heaven – Jared Anderson

Message – Jason Harris

Altar

Revelation Song – Kari Jobe

I really lack the words to describe how today’s service went.  Lots of people came down at the end of the service.  Some joined the church, one received Christ for the first time. Just an amazing day in our Lord.  I think it started last night with a gentleman in is late 60’s accepting Christ and getting baptized.  He’s sat in our church forever!  No one knew that he wasn’t saved.  Don’t be lulled to sleep in your churches out there people! Christ is alive and doing some awesome things!

Keep the Son in your eyes,

BRAD

Flag and ConstitutionIt has been a greatly eventful weekend at home and at church.  Welcome!  I’m glad you found me here.  I’m thankful that you have taken the time to stop by.  I hope you come back often and leave me comments.

The weekend started with the event coverage of the 9/12 project on FoxNews. We are beginning to see just how patriotic our fellow Americans are with the TEA Party on the The Mall at the capital in Washington D.C.  There were other TEA Parties in Fort Worth, TX and in Quincy, Ill. as well.  What an amazing thing the gift of freedom is from God.  We respond with conviction and heart in times of trouble and let our voices be heard because those freedoms are placed in danger’s way.  It happened 8 years ago at 9/11 and it feels like it is happening again in our great country.

In light of the current events, the church has been called to awaken.  Do you hear that?  WAKE UP!  No more compromise.  No more playing the game of appearing like Christians but living like hell after church is over.  It’s time to stand up and let the evidence of our Christianity be collected against us by our enemies, if they dare to do so.  What do we have to lose?  Our lives? If things don’t change we won’t have one anyway.  The paradigm is changing.  So stand up and be counted for the Glory of God!

Brother Barry preached a great sermon today. It will be up on http://www.etpalestine.com Monday morning.  It’s called “Church Alive”.  I continue to post these sermons because I’m starting to see that the messages that are coming out of your churches are becoming more and more similar. (Like our setlists!)  It’s equally as cool to see God moving His churches in the same direction.  Is it not?

Speaking of the setlist:

Walk – In  Let the Praises Ring – Lincoln Brewster

It’s been a long time since we have brought this one out to the main service.  It felt great though and the praises did ring out loud today.

Lifesong – Casting Crowns

Mighty to Save – Morgan (We did Smitty’s version)

Prayer and Offertory

Who Am I? – Casting Crowns

Only You – David Crowder* Band

Message: Dr. Barry Roberts “Church Alive”

Altar:  Word of God Speak – MercyMe

Closing: Chorus to Word of God Speak

What was your weekend like?  How did you remember 9/11?  What is going on in your church?  You check other churches setlists and sermons out at http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/09/13/sunday-setlists-60/

Thanks again for stopping by and don’t forget to leave a comment.  It doesn’t matter if it’s about the set list or about 9/11.  I’ll read what you have to say.

Keep the Son in your eyes,

BRAD
